The Dietary Supplement Act (DSHEA) was passed in 1994 despite major resistance from pharmaceutical companies. In 1998 alone, 3,000 legislative bills were proposed to protect patient's rights against doctors, hospitals, health care providers and prescription drug companies. In response to this consumer revolution AMI created the first fully integrative health care delivery system.
